ABOUT THIS POSITION
As Whimsigirl’s Digital Designer, you will be responsible for producing on-brand digital collateral and technical mechanicals to translate brand vision, strategy, and storytelling into relevant assets for performance marketing - including social graphics, video, email promotions, and social (paid/organic) at Whimsigirl campaign-level standards of quality.
GOALS & FOCUS
Versioning a variety of marketing promotional materials of digital, print, and video collateral across various channels such as emails, banners and paid social performance assets (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, etc).
YOUR ROLE AT WHIMSIGIRL
Act as local guardian of brand guidelines
Create engaging, commercially-minded and story-led content
Take the lead in creating visually engaging, thoughtful and beautifully designed social assets for Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and LinkedIn
Stay abreast of all industry developments online and strive for best in class content for the Whimsigirl channels.
Update and create new production design templates in Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator as needed.
Keep all team members up-to-date on any new templates or guidelines.
Advise other creatives on limitations/best practices for each type of produced asset.
Liaison w/ team members + external parties to create personalized assets, for example landing pages for social media pages
Streamline workflows to better work with other members of the creative team, and cross-functionally.
Maintain strict specifications for file naming conventions and file organization.
You have a strong sense of typography, image, and visual hierarchy.
Meticulous and detailed in your work.
Work alongside e-commerce and social team to ensure all designs are in line with brand guidelines
Flexible — able to support Whimsigirl with a “no task is too small” attitude.
Open to change — this is a transformative time for Whimsigirl, and you need to be able to adapt to changes in team and organizational structure.

Video editing skills are not necessary but an advantage.
TECHNICAL STUFF, BUT IMPORTANT
Successful experience within design for social media / online marketing
Passionate in creating ground-breaking, imaginative and surprising content
Strong ability to use Adobe software (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects)
Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of project scope and implementation
Can turn around tasks quickly and effectively whilst making sure to stick to the brief
A detailed understanding of what works on social media and an understanding of current trends in this area
A team-player, equally able to work independently.
Strong visual & verbal communication skills within the team
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
